Department of Pharmacy Practice

Department of Pharmacy Practice

The mission of the Department of Pharmacy Practice is to support the College’s mission through teaching, practice, service, research, and high quality professional development.

We value innovation in teaching methods and practical learning experiences, individual and intellectual curiosity, life-long learning, professional leadership and personal qualities of honesty, integrity and respect. We believe that continual exposure of our students to a variety of patient care settings and practice-based research complements classroom learning and provides the optimal learning experience.

Our goal is to produce Doctor of Pharmacy graduate practitioners who will fill local, state and national leadership roles in patient care as a direct result of their quality experience in our program. We will achieve this by:

  • Educating our student pharmacists to be life-long learners who are competent scientist clinicians in a variety of health care settings
  • Contributing to the profession of pharmacy by serving as leadership role models in professional organizations and community programs, and achieving local and national recognition for our efforts.
  • Demonstrating to our students the benefits of innovation in teaching and research
  • Partnering with our students to better serve the community by engaging in scholarly activities that lead to improvements in health care delivery and enhanced health outcomes
