First Wood County Hospital Brown Bag Event
Fifth-year pharmacy students from The University of Findlay College of Pharmacy assisted with the first Wood County Hospital Brown Bag event. Wood county residents were invited to attend a brief presentation by Todd Leopold, RPh, of Wood County Hospital, and to bring their home medications for review by a pharmacist or pharmacy student. Dr. Debra Parker, Dr. Brad Shinn and Assistant Dean John Stanovich also assisted with the event. According to Todd Leopold, "The program was a huge success; we had 30 satisfied customers. The students represented the pharmacy program at The University of Findlay very well; their professionalism and intellect was very impressive. They also showed great compassion and generosity to the patients. I have received many compliments about the program, and I have been asked several times - "When are we doing the Brown Bag Day again?" I would like this to be an anual event with The University of Findlay. Everyone did a great job! I look forward to working with The University of Findlay more in the future." Congratulations to the students and faculty members for their efforts to improve medication safety in our community! -Dr. Parker Other Points of Pride
