Testimonials
What I like about UF and the pharmacy program now that I am here...
(actual student responses)
I love the friendly atmosphere and how all the pharmacy students have seemed to band together in order to not leave anyone behind. It seems as though there is an instant bond between two pharmacy students, whether or not they are in the same grade, just because of their major.
Now that I am here, I like the fact that there are only 60 students. I know almost all 60 students and have classes with majority of the other pharmacy majors.
Because it is a 0-6 program and the pharmacy program here seemed to me to be a program that will succeed and be a place where I can also succeed.
One thing I like about UF and the pharmacy program so far is the small class sizes. It is so much easier to learn with small classes. I also like how the professors really do take the time to know your name and who you are. When I visited UF during my senior year at high school everyone always talked about how great small classes were and how the professors care about your progress in class. At the time, I thought they were just saying that to get me to come here, but now that I'm here it is so true!
What I like about the program is that we have professors that have a lot of experience and a vast amount of knowledge about the practice of pharmacy and in many settings. I feel very confident in the pharmacy school's faculty and am very comfortable knowing that I am receiving a great education. We have 2 former OPA presidents and other members who amaze me at what knowledge they 'bring to the table.' I am most satisfied with the education that is coming to me. I also admire the compassion that the office staff gives to its pharmacy students. I know that they will try hard to fulfill any request that I might have or question that I need answered. That is a comforting feeling that is well appreciated.
As the campus is small and I really love that. I see a lot of the same people which I enjoy coming from a small town. And there are always so many events on campus. I wasn't aware of this prior to coming here so I feel that was an added bonus.
I like that my choice in the school was not compromised by actually being here. The professors do not avoid you and there is always help available (you just have to ask). It is nice to have a campus that only takes 15 minutes to stroll across. Even the upper classmen (some anyway) sympathize with you and are willing to give their advice.
I like the fact that I do not feel the pressure of competing with my classmates in order to get into Pharmacy School.
Everyone is very helpful in helping me achieve my goals and everything is very straightforward and there are no hidden requirements.
I love the campus. It suits me perfect and I never imagined being as happy as I am at UF. The pharmacy program is very tough. I'm up for the challenge though. I love the Davis building to study in at night.
I absolutely LOVE being a pharmacy student here because everyone is willing to help you succeed. The professors are GREAT and they really want you to do well in their classes (and are willing to help you-if you ask).
I like that the UF pharmacy program is small and everyone begins to know each other. Most of the students I see are pharmacy and it is comforting to know they are going through the same difficulties as I am.
The city of Findlay is safe. It's too small to get into much trouble, but big enough to still have fun.
The teachers are the best. Because of UF's size you know a lot of the students. The teachers know you too. Classes are small enough that you can ask questions during a class and you don't always have to be told, "We'll talk about it after class."
Pharmacy faculty are top-notch. Faculty don't have to fit into a mold of how things have always been done.
We have two recent past OPA presidents on faculty, 'nough said. What other Ohio pharmacy school has that? I am really proud to tell people that.
I like that the teachers are always willing to help, the faculty is friendly and the pharmacy students are well connected by mentor-mentee programs, activities of clubs. Also, I feel that UF is a place where you can get involved with campus groups, meet people and really make your mark!
I think the pharmacy staff is great, as well as the other staff at the University, which is a good reason to come choose to come here. When I came on the tours and visits to see how things went here I noticed that everyone seemed willing to help make you comfortable and it really made my decision more clear on where I wanted to go. Another thing about the staff at the University is that it is great that if you want to know about one of your professors, all you have to do is look them up under the search and you can learn their background and some of their expectations which is nice when you want to get to know them before you get into the class.
I like that fellow pharmacy students are willing to help each other out. In a school where there are over 300 students competing for a few spots in the pharmacy program, classmates are less likely to offer help to each other. Here, since we are all accepted already, there is no harm in helping out our classmates.
I like the small campus feel. The fact my friends at other campuses are worried about taking the PCAT and I don't have to worry about it.
I like that professors know students' names and I feel like they really want us to succeed.
