Application Process

Degree Holding Student

Please understand that we are a direct admit program from high school.  Our program is set up to maximize financial assistance for undergraduate students.  Years 1-4 of our program are classified as undergraduate and years 5 & 6 are classified as graduate.  You will be classified as an undergraduate student if you are accepted to our program.  Due to the fact that you have a degree, financial assistance for these undergraduate years has been exhausted for you.

For transfer students, University policy states that a maximum of 62 credit hours can transfer from a community college or 2-year institution.  In addition, UF will not grant 300 or 400 level credit for any course completed at a community college or 2-year institution.

STEP 1.  Gain acceptance to The University of Findlay
Prior to April 10 if you would like to be considered for a possible fall placement.
Prior to October 10 if you would like to be considered for a possible spring placement.

Transfer students and/or degree holders will need to complete the Transfer/Post High School Application for Undergraduate AdmissionYou must work with the Graduate & Professional Studies Office  or the International Admissions Office to secure admission to the University.   The College of Pharmacy cannot assist you with this portion of the application process.

Acceptance to The University of Findlay is required so that your prior coursework can be evaluated by our Registrar’s Office.  The College of Pharmacy will use this evaluation to predict where you may fit within the first two years of our program.  Very few students have transferred in all pre-professional courses and are ready to begin our third year.

Even though you are applying to The University of Findlay through the Graduate and Professional Studies Office, you will be considered an undergraduate student for a minimum of at least two years, maybe more, depending on your placement in our program. Only years 5 & 6 of our program are considered graduate level.

STEP 2. Apply to the College of Pharmacy

Once accepted to The University of Findlay, your admissions information will be forwarded to the College of Pharmacy for review. Should you meet our minimum qualifications, a College of Pharmacy application will be sent to you.

STEP 3. Interview with a College of Pharmacy Representative

Only select students will be invited to interview.  The in-person interview is mandatory for all students who wish to have their application considered further.  The opportunity to interview will be based on your completed Pharmacy application, UF application, transcripts and test scores.  Interviews for transfer students will be set up individually most likely in December and May.

On your interview day, you will be asked to write a short essay and will interview, one-on-one, with a College of Pharmacy faculty member or administrator.  Each interview will be approximately 30 minutes in length and is an important part of the admission decision.  Writing materials for the essay will be furnished.  The only item you will need to bring is a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license.
