College of Pharmacy
The College of Pharmacy at The University of Findlay was given approval from the Ohio Board of Regents and the Higher Learning Commission to offer a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and has been awarded candidate accreditation status by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education during their 2007 meeting of the ACPE Board of Directors. The degree will combine strong emphasis on basic and pharmaceutical sciences as preparation for entering the sixth or clinical year. The focus of the clinical year will be collaborative practice with patients and other health professionals. If the program continues to develop as planned graduates will be qualified to sit for the pharmacy licensure examination in all 50 states and to continue with graduate education, advanced clinical residencies or fellowships in pharmacy practice.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has awarded Allen County Health Partners and The University of Findlay, College of Pharmacy three awards, including the highest PSPC Performance Award, Clinical Pharmacy Services Improvement Award, and the Life Saving Patient Safety Award as part of HRSA’s Patient Safety and Clinical Pharmacy Services Collaborative (PSPC).
