The degree will combine strong emphasis on basic and pharmaceutical sciences as preparation for entering the sixth or clinical year. The focus of the clinical year will be collaborative practice with patients and other health professionals.  If the program continues to develop as planned graduates will be qualified to sit for the pharmacy licensure examination in all 50 states and to continue with graduate education, advanced clinical residencies or fellowships in pharmacy practice.
