Pharmacists practice in many settings. The traditional ones are community and hospital pharmacies, although pharmacists have careers in pharmacy education, collaborative practice in physicians’ offices, pharmacy journalism, pharmacy associations and specialty practices. Recognized specialties available to pharmacists who do residencies and sit for certification boards include nuclear pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, nutrition support pharmacy, oncology pharmacy and psychiatric pharmacy. While no one can predict the future, the growing need for pharmacists seems certain.
