Master of Occupational Therapy

UF's master of occupational therapy offers options in three different areas:

  1. Traditional program (with direct freshman-admission option)

  2. Weekend program​

  3. Transfer students​

Traditional Program
​The University of Findlay’s traditional program is a five-and-one-half-year program with two years of pre-professional requirements and three years of professional course work, plus six months of fieldwork. After the fourth year, students receive a bachelor of science degree in health studies with a master of occupational therapy awarded at the end of the program. Direct Freshman Admission

The University of Findlay offers direct freshman admission. Students with a 3.5 GPA (3.5 on a 4.0 scale) or higher, and a 25 ACT (1700 SAT) score may be eligible for direct freshman admission. A completed application to The University of Findlay must be received by Jan. 13, 2012, to be considered for the direct freshman-admissions option for 2012. Students who do not meet the requirements above may apply for admissions to the professional graduate program during their sophomore year of college.

​Weekend Program

If you already are a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) or have a bachelor’s degree and meet the pre-professional requirements, you can earn a master of occupational therapy degree in three years.
 
The weekend program meets six times per semester year-round on Fridays and Saturdays. UF welcomes COTAs and physical therapy assistants. Non-COTA/PTA candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree and have at least one year of health care-related experience. Read more about the weekend program.

​Transfer Students

UF's OT program is offered in a combined bachelor’s/masters format. It is not a post baccalaureate program where the student receives a bachelor’s degree in another subject and then applies to graduate school. Our program provides 3.5 years of professional coursework; two years at the undergraduate level and 1.5 years at the graduate level. Read more about transferring to UF.
