You have chosen an exciting time to consider a career in nursing. As a nurse you will be joining the nation's largest health care field and one that is continuing to grow. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is expecting nursing to grow 26 percent from 2010 to 2020, faster than the average for all occupations. Growth will occur primarily because of technological advancements; an increased emphasis on preventative care; and the large, aging baby-boomer population who will demand more healthcare services as they live longer and more active lives.
The pre-nursing program at The University of Findlay will prepare you to earn a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program. You’ll complete the first two years of pre-requisite courses at Findlay, giving you a solid foundation in the sciences and the student experience that The University of Findlay offers, and then transfer to a nursing program of your choice.
Findlay has articulation agreements with Lourdes University located in Sylvania, Ohio, and with Mt. Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. These agreements guarantee you a seamless, direct path to completing a BSN. You also may apply to any nursing school of your choice. Both Lourdes University and Mt. Carmel require a 3.0 GPA or better in addition to completion of the prerequisites in or to be admitted to their BSN programs.
