Final Honors Project

Steps Toward Completing Your Final Honors Project

Step 1. Choose a research topic that you are interested in and select an honors project advisor that would support your chosen research topic.  

Step 2. Obtain approval from a faculty member to be your honors project advisor; utilize the proposal cover sheet. 

Step 3. Complete the honors project proposal, utilizing the proposal guidelines and format; may view the sample projects (located in the honors space). 

Step 4. Submit proposal to chair of the student proposal subcommittee. 

Step 5. After receiving approval from the subcommittee, meet with the honors board to present your proposal and receive final approval. 

Step 6. Research may involve submission to the Institutional Review Board (IRB). 

Step 7. Register for HNRS495 during semester you will be working on project. Use registration form; get appropriate signatures, and bring to the proposal meeting. 

Step 8. Completion of the honors project must be done as an undergraduate student and at a B- level or ABOVE. 

Step 9. Final honors project must be presented at one of the biannual meetings and at the Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity. 

Step 10. Submit final product to Honors Program Chair.
