Intro to Gender Studies |

| In this interdisciplinary course, students will examine issues
such as gender, race, social class, and sexual orientation in
specific geographical and historical contexts to determine how
all are reflectors of gender and its role in society. Students
will also explore such topics as the image of gender in the
media and in popular culture, violence against both genders, the
family, and issues of gender in politics.

This is an upper-level course which may focus on special issues,
directions, policies, or people in the area of gender studies. It
may be taken twice, provided the topics are different.
