A minor in Spanish consists of 18 semester hours of Spanish courses, excluding Spanish 120 and 121. With the increase of Spanish speaking people in the United States and the growing emphasis on bilingual education to meet this challenge, students should consider the advantages of having a working knowledge of Spanish to augment their majors, particularly those of business, elementary education, English, and social sciences.
All Spanish majors are required to complete a semester of an immersion program.
