All core classes are taught by highly qualified and experienced professors holding no less than a doctoral degree.
Over 90% of our courses are taught by full-time University of Findlay professors. Your courses will not be taught by students pursuing higher degrees.
Our professors working for the TESOL/Bilingual program are bilingual.
The curriculum was built with only the professional needs of ESL/bilingual teachers in mind. There are no extra courses from other departments.
Students within the program come from a variety of backgrounds, both domestic and international

We provide unique volunteer experiences within our local school systems to supplement our master level in-class training.
Volunteer Programs
We work closely with the community and local schools to provide
enriching learning and teaching experiences for our students. We
strongly encourage you to participate in these outreach programs as we
believe that hands-on practice and professional mentorship enhances your
teaching skills.
Our volunteer programs:
Van Buren Elementary School Language Club
This
volunteer organization gives international students an opportunity to
teach their native language and culture to American elementary
school-aged students. The program is offered yearly in the Fall and
Spring semesters.
Genki Kids (Formerly FABSS)
This
volunteer opportunity gives international and domestic students the
opportunity to teach Japanese to the Findlay City School System.
ESL Volunteers in Findlay City Schools
This
volunteer organization gives TESOL students the opportunity to work
one-on-one with ELL students in the Findlay City School System.
