​The College of Pharmacy is a direct entry 0-6 program

Our goal is to recruit and accept 72 qualified high school seniors to our program. We will assure their progression (without reapplication) through the six years of our program as long as standards are met.

High School Senior​

Step 1. Gain acceptance to The University of Findlay
You will need to complete the undergraduate application for admission. You must work with your underg​raduate admissions counselor to gain acceptance to The University of Findlay. Their contact information is admissions@findl​ay.edu, 419-434-4732 or 800-548-0932. You may begin this process as soon as your high school posts final grades for 11th grade.

Step 2. Submit your College of Pharma​cy application

Once accepted to The University of Findlay, your admission's file will be reviewed. Should you meet pharmacy's minimum qualifications, a College of Pharmacy application will be sent to you.
 

Step 3. Interview with a College of Pharmacy representative​

About 200 select students will be offered an invitation to interview. The in-person interview is mandatory for all students who wish to have their application considered further. The opportunity to interview will be based on your completed Pharmacy application, UF application, transcripts and test scores. Interview dates for high school seniors will be scheduled for January and early February.
 
On your interview day, you will be asked to write a short essay and will interview, one-on-one, with a College of Pharmacy faculty member or administrator. Each interview will be approximately 30 minutes in length and is an important part of the admission decision. Writing materials for the essay will be furnished. The only item you will need to bring is a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license.​
 

Post Secondary

Because of our very specific curriculum, many post-secondary students are frustrated when they find that they have a full 6 years to complete at Findlay. To possibly avoid this, please work closely with the College of Pharmacy to select courses at your post-secondary institution that will also remove requirements in our program.  If you are taking courses at a 2-year institution, please note that courses taken there will not remove a 300 or 400-level requirement at Findlay.


University policy states that a maximum of 62 credit hours can transfer from a community college or two-year institution.  In addition, UF will not grant 300 or 400 level credit for any course completed at a community college or two-year institution. 

 

Step 1. Apply through PharmCAS if you think you qualify as a thrid year student (P3)

If you have obtained at least 12 semester hours from a college or university after high school graduation, you will need to complete the the PharmCAS application first. You will work with the Undergraduate Admissions Office to gain acceptance to The University of Findlay prior to October 1 if you would like to be considered for spring or March 1 if you would like to be considered for fall. Contact the Office of Admissions at admissions@findlay.edu with questions or 419-434-4732.
 
Only years five and six of our program are considered graduate level.

Step 2. Gain acceptance to The University of Findlay

Prior to October if you would like to be considered for a possible spring placement. Prior to March 1 if you would like to be considered for a possible fall placement.

Transfer students and/or degree holders will need to complete the Transfer Application for Undergraduate Admission. You must work with the Undergraduate Admissions Office​​ to gain acceptance to The University of Findlay. Their contact information is 419-434-4732 or 800-548-0932, admissions@findlay.edu​. The PCAT is not required.

Acceptance to The University of Findlay is required so that your prior coursework can be evaluated by our Registrar’s Office. The College of Pharmacy will use this evaluation to predict where you may fit within the first two years of our program. Very few students have transferred in all pre-professional courses and are ready to begin our third year.

Step 3. Submit your College of Pharma​cy application

Once accepted to The University of Findlay, your admissions information will be forwarded to the College of Pharmacy for review. Should you meet our minimum qual​ifications, a College of Pharmacy application will be sent to you.

Step 4: Interview with a College of Pharmacy representative

As an international high school senior, you will need to meet the deadlines listed below to be considered for our pharmacy program.  In addition, you must also meet all of pharmacy's minimum qualifications

  1. A 3.3 accumulative high school grade point average
  2. A 600 TOEFL score
  3. Minimum of a 23 in each subtest of the ACT or a minimum of 530 in each subtest of the SAT
  4. College Prep Curriculum


In order to receive a College of Pharmacy application.
       

Step 1. Gain acceptance to The University of Findlay prior to January 5

You will complete the International Student Application for Undergraduate Admission. You must work with the International Admissions Office to gain acceptance to The University of Findlay prior to January 5. Their contact information is international@findlay.edu, 419-434-4732 or 800-548-0932. You may begin this process as soon as your high school posts final grades for 11th grade.

Step 2. Submit your College of Pharma​cy application prior to January 20

Once accepted to The University of Findlay, the College of Pharmacy will receive a copy of your admission file for review. Should you meet pharmacy's minimum qualifications listed above, a College of Pharmacy application will be sent to you.

Step 3. Interview with a College of Pharmacy representative

If you are interested in switching majors and becoming a pharmacy student, please be aware that there is an application process you must complete and specific deadlines you must meet.  Our program is set up to admit 72 freshmen each fall to start our 6-year program. One of our current pharmacy students must opt out of pharmacy to create a vacancy in our program. At that time we would look to transfer students, both internal (UF students) and external (from another college/university) to fill that vacancy. We will fill vacancies in our program up to the start of our third year. Competition is keen and there is no preference given to current University of Findlay students.

If you are an current undergraduate student at The University of Findlay, please contact the transfer coordinator in undergraduate admissions and let them know you would like to apply to pharmacy. For our process, you will be classified as a transfer student and will need to meet the minimum requirements and deadlines set forth for transfer students. You do not need to fill out an undergraduate application again.

If you are a graduate of The University of Findlay Student, you will need to apply as an undergraduate transfer student. Our program is designed for undergraduates for the first four years and graduate for the last two years. Your undergraduate transcripts will be evaluated for possible credit towards our pharmacy curriculum. History has shown that if your undergraduate degree is from a foreign country, not many of those courses will remove requirements in our pharmacy curriculum, even if your have a bachelor of pharmacy. In most cases, foreign degree students have been told that they need to be here six years to complete our program. This is typical of most pharmacy programs in the USA. Our registrar's office evaluates foreign transcripts.

Completing the undergraduate application to Findlay does not guarantee admission to the College of Pharmacy, there are minimum requirements to receive a College of Pharmacy application and a specific process set forth.

Please understand that we are a direct admit program for high school students. Our program is set up to maximize financial assistance for undergraduate students. Years one through four of our program are classified as undergraduate and years five and six are classified as graduate.

You will be classified as an undergraduate student if you are accepted to our program. Because you have a degree, financial assistance for these undergraduate years has been exhausted for you.

Even though you are applying to The University of Findlay through the Graduate and Professional Studies Office, you will be considered an undergraduate student for a minimum of at least two years, maybe more, depending on your placement in our program. Only years five & six of our program are considered graduate level.


Step 2. Submit your College of Pharma​cy application

Once accepted to The University of Findlay, your admissions information will be forwarded to the College of Pharmacy for review. Should you meet our minimum qualifi​cations, a College of Pharmacy application will be sent to you.

Step 3. Interview with a College of Pharmacy representative
