Faculty Assistantship Applications

To apply for an Assistantship for the 2012-13 academic year please do the following:

If you are applying for a graduate assistantship two things are extremely important for you to consider as you prepare to submit your request for a graduate assistant.

1.    It is important to complete all sections of the Request for Graduate Assistant form and to provide all information that will be considered along with your request.  Click on the link below to print off a hard copy.
Requests that do not include the college dean's signature will be returned to the applicant.

2.    You should attach any supporting information that helps to support your request for a graduate assistantship.   It is important to include an explanation of how the student, faculty/staff/program or office, and the University would benefit from the work that would be completed if your request is funded.  Specifically, the committee will closely study how these graduate assistantship will improve the quality of teaching, research or daily operations of program offices.   Here is a copy of the rubric the committee will be using to give you an idea of what to include in your request.

3.    Upon approval of a request and the selection of a graduate student who will receive the identified graduate assistantship award, the student and faculty/program will complete a third form (which is similar to the one form we have previously used).  The completion and submission of the third form (for approved positions only) will complete the process for the following academic year.
