Intensive English Language Program

The Intensive English Language Programs are part of The University of Findlay's Language and Culture Department. Students from all over the world have come to the IELP to study English. The university's IELP is accredited by the American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP).
Students in the IELP earn university credit in English as an International Language (ENIN) which may be applied toward a degree in ENIN or another university major.

The IELP offers Intensive English certificates to students who have successfully completed two semesters.

The IELP offers:

  • Small classes (10 - 20 students)
  • Committed, experienced faculty with MA or PhD
  • Instruction in reading, writing, communication and grammar
  • Elective courses such as TOEFL Preparation, American Culture and Conversation (Conversation Partners), Listening and Pronunciation, Business Communication and English through Computer Skills

Students may study in the IELP to prepare for undergraduate classes, Master's degree classes in Business Administration (MBA), Education, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Bilingual Education, and Environmental Management.
