Transfer Admissions

Important Information for Transfer Students

Apply!
It's easy to apply as a transfer student to The University of Findlay!  Click here to fill out an online transfer application.  As part of the application process, you will need to provide official transcripts from all of your previous college-level institutions and a personal statement (which is located within the application).
**If you're applying after August 1st for the Fall Semester or applying after November 30th for the Spring Semester  please contact the Transfer Coordinator at 419-434-4636 for more information before applying.

Course Equivalencies
An unofficial transcript evaluation can be completed by the Transfer Coordinator after you've applied to determine course equivalencies.  However, an official transcript evaluation can only be completed by the Registrar's Office for your final transfer evaluation.  If you would like an unofficial transcript evaluation completed by the Transfer Coordinator, please fax your transcript to 419.434.4898 (Attn: Transfer Coordinator) prior to your first scheduled meeting.

Enrollment Deposit
In order to become a Findlay Oiler, we ask that you submit your $100 enrollment deposit by May 1st. Once your deposit has been paid, you will receive all the necessary paperwork to begin your first semester at The University of Findlay! Your $100 deposit is fully-refundable up to May 1st.

Financial Aid
Before registering for classes, you need to make sure that your financial aid is in order. As a UF transfer student, you’re eligible to receive a Merit Scholarship worth up to $12,000! If you have not already done so at your previous institution, file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The University of Findlay code is 003045. If you've already filed a FAFSA with your previous institution, you'll simply need to use your PIN to add the UF school code to your file online.  All questions or concerns about your financial aid should be directed to the Financial Aid Office at 419.434.4791 or 1.800.472.9502 ext. 4791 or 4792, finaid@findlay.edu, or stop by the first floor of Morey Hall on-campus.

Final Transcripts
If you are currently enrolled in classes at another institution, you need to have final transcripts sent at the end of the session. Many schools allow you to request transcripts in advance. Check with the Registrar’s Office at the school that you are attending.

Housing
Students under 22 years of age are required to live in a campus residence hall unless commuting from their parent’s home within the approved radius of Findlay. If you're under 22 years of age and would like to make an appeal to live off-campus, you may do so by contacting Housing after you've been accepted and have paid your $100 enrollment deposit. If you’re between the ages of 23 and 25, you may be interested in our comfortable townhouses or cottages. The townhouses and cottages fill-up very quickly, so please try to pay your enrollment deposit ASAP if you’re interested in these facilities. Both commuter and resident students are required to complete a housing and/or commuter form. You will receive this paperwork once your enrollment deposit has been submitted. We also offer a Findlay-area apartment listing to students over the age of 22 interested in living off-campus. Questions or concerns regarding housing should be directed to 419.434.4570, 1.800.472.9502 ext. 4570, studentservices@findlay.edu, or stop by the Student Services Office on the first floor of Old Main.

Meal Plan
Whether you are living on-campus or commuting from home, the University offers meal plans that suit every need. To sign up just drop by Dining Services in Deming Hall or call 419.434.4542, 1.800.472.9502 ext. 4542.

Parking
UF owns over 20 parking lots located right here on-campus, so you don’t have to walk far to get to class! Any student may bring a car to campus as long as they have it registered with the Security Office during the first week of classes. There is no additional fee to register your car. The Security Office is located in Lovett Resident Hall and can be reached at 419.434.4799 or 1.800.548.0932 ext. 4799. Or register it online here: Safety and Security.

Billing
Students will be billed by the Business Office approximately one month after registering for classes. Any questions regarding bills or the monthly installment payment plan should be directed to the Business Office 419.434.4690 or 1.800.472.9502 ext. 4690. PLEASE be sure your financial aid is in order before calling or stopping by the Business Office (first floor of Old Main).

Insurance
All full-time, undergraduate students are automatically enrolled and billed for a Student Health and Accident Insurance Plan unless a waiver form is submitted. The deadline for waiving insurance is Oct.1 for the fall and Feb. 1 for the spring. After these dates, the student is enrolled in the policy, and it CANNOT be waived. Students who decline the coverage are not eligible to enroll in the plan for a period of one year. For more information and the waiver form, please contact the Business Office at 419.434.4690, 1.800.472.9502 ext. 4690 or by stopping by the office on the first floor of Old Main.
