Online Degree Completion
Complete your bachelor's degree completely online!
Earning that credential can lead to advancing your career, or help you achieve an important milestone of personal growth.
Through The University of Findlay’s online degree completion program, students complete a bachelor’s degree alongside other accomplished and motivated students.
The program’s live Web-conferencing format allows students to accomplish their goals without disrupting personal and professional commitments. Findlay’s convenient program can be completed in less than two years. And because classes are offered in accelerated eight-week sessions, students can start taking classes nearly any time during the year.
The program is currently offered in two program areas:
Bachelor's of Business Management (BSBM)
Bachelor's of Environmental Safety Management (BSEM)
One Graduate's Story: William Parkins
William Parkins (right) poses with Scott Freehafer, associate professor of business and director of the MBA & non-traditional programs, at Commencement on May 5, 2012.
When I first decided to advance my college education, I must admit, I was apprehensive. After all, I was quickly approaching the age of 40, I’m married, I have two children, and I couldn’t see myself having the time or the energy for college. The degree completion program at the University is for people like me, and is of the highest quality. For the last two years, I have crossed paths with some of the most professional and personable instructors. However, there is one that stands out from the rest.
For my orientation class, I had
Scott Freehafer
as my professor. From day one, he accepted me into the University with open arms, and my apprehension quickly disappeared. He has been an inspiration throughout my two years at the University not only by challenging my abilities as a student but by preparing me for the next step in my professional career.
Scott Freehafer is an exceptional professor, an inspiring leader, and a remarkable human being. I am proud to say that I will soon be a graduate of The University of Findlay and appreciative to have crossed paths with him.

Getting In
The online Degree Completion Program is geared toward adult working students who have at least 62 transferable credit hours and wish to earn a bachelor's degree.
Courses must have been passed with a "C" or higher to be transferable.
Students accepted into these programs also must meet University competency requirements in:
math
writing
communication and
computer science.
Some competencies must be met before enrollment in certain courses in the program, while others may be fulfilled any time before completion of the program. Assessment tests are available in each competency area, or acceptable courses may be transferred in.
More About the Program
Courses meet online via a chat room once a week in eight-week blocks, with two successive blocks in one semester. Two courses per block are the usual full-time load.
Those attending full time are capable of earning their degree in as little as four semesters, if they have 62 transferable hours and meet all competencies and prerequisites. The 62 semester hours required for the completion programs consist of 20 semester hours of general education and 42 semester hours of major courses. General education courses are interdisciplinary in nature, integrating two or more academic areas.
Some courses from other four-year institutions may be transferred to substitute for some of the 62 hours required for the degree completion program. However, the last 30 hours must be taken at The University of Findlay.
