Math Placement Test Procedures
The purpose of the Mathematics Placement Test is to determine if your
first mathematics class at The University of Findlay should be
pre-calculus or calculus. You should only take the test if you
are comfortable with the topics of trigonometry, logarithms and
exponential functions and you wish to register for calculus your first
semester.
Typically, a student who will take this test has studied Trigonometry,
Elementary Functions, and/or Calculus at the high school level.
The test is optional and is only appropriate for students who do not
want an algebra or pre-calculus class as their.

The Mathematics Placement Test is an online test and The test is taken online
from your own, home school, or library and is available through The
University website.
- UF email account - your log - in and password
- Calculator (either a scientific or graphing calculator, but not one with an algebra system such as TI-89 or TI-92)
- Scrap paper or pencil
- Computer with internet connection
- One hour or slightly more

Also, to be sure that your computer is compatible with the Blackboard Testing Software, please select Compatibility Test within the course and complete the one question compatibility test before taking the Mathematics Placement Test.
