Students will be placed into a writing course based on their ACT or SAT scores.  ENGL 104 College Writing 1 is the typical starting point for first-year students and for transfer students who do not already have credit for a college writing course.  However, students who demonstrate strong verbal skills and strong academic reading ability on the ACT or SAT exam may enter directly into ENGL 106 College Writing 2.
