​College of Sciences Scholarships

All endowed scholarships are available to UF sophomores, juniors and seniors. A limited number of scholarships are available to incoming freshmen, and these scholarships are awarded as part of the regular freshman admissions process. Endowed scholarships range from $500 - $1,500 each year. 


Robert T. Bradley Memorial Award 

  • Awarded to students who have distinguished themselves in the western equestrian studies program as well as the co-curricular program in western equestrian studies
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by the daughter of Robert Bradley in his honor

Robert ​​W. Brennan Scholarship

  • Awarded to students in their sophomore or junior years who have a 3.0 GPA or better in their equestrian courses
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by The University of Findlay Horse Club alumni in honor of “Dr. Bob,” a professor of the University from 1982-2002

Buckeye Western Horse Association Scholarship

  • Awarded to Hancock County students enrolled in the western equestrian program; second preference is to Hancock County students involved in an equine 4-H program; third preference is to Hancock County students who participated in the general junior fair during high school
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by the Buckeye Western Horse Association

Bundy Equestrian Scholarship

  • Awarded to equestrian studies majors who are involved with both equestrian and campus activities. Preference is given to descendants of Richard and Geneva Bundy
  • One to two scholarships awarded annually*
  • Established by Richard L. Bundy Sr. ’59 and Geneva (Keck ’44) Bundy

Allyson Busch ’09 Western Equestrian Scholarship

  • Awarded to full-time western equestrian studies students who hold a 3.0 GPA or better
  • ​One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by the Belleau Farm and Adolphus A. Busch IV 

James L. Child Jr. Scholarship

  • Awarded to equestrian studies majors with preference given to those in the English equestrian program
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established in memory of James L. Child Jr., who was a trustee of the University from 1975-81

Allen Clopper Scholarship

  • Awarded to incoming freshmen who rank in the upper quarter of their high school class who are planning to major in one of the physical sciences and/or mathematics
  • One to two scholarships awarded annually*
  • Established by Allen ’36 and Betty (Caskey ’36) Clopper

Richard W. Corner Memorial Scholarship

  • Awarded to computer science majors who hold a 3.0 GPA or better
  • Three to four scholarships awarded annually*
  • Established by Professor Corner’s wife and friends to honor his dedication to students and his 26 years of service to Findlay

Harold and Lucille Crosby Scholarship

  • Awarded to incoming freshmen majoring in the area of natural sciences who demonstrate Christian ethics and have leadership qualities as indicated by involvement in extracurricular activities
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by Mr. and Mrs. Philip Crosby

Edward and Mary Crosby Scholarship

  • Awarded to incoming freshmen majoring in equestrian studies or pre-veterinary medicine who demonstrate Christian ethics and leadership qualities as indicated by involvement in extracurricular activities

Kenneth B. Cummins Mathematics Scholarship

  • Awarded to mathematics majors who have a 3.0 GPA or better
  • One scholarship awarded annually* 
  • Established through a bequest from Kenneth B. Cummins

Elsie Mae Daubert ’46 Memorial Scholarship

  • Awarded to students majoring in biology who have a 3.0 GPA or better with first preference going to Church of God members
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by Richard and Eva Longsderff in memory of Eva’s sister, a retired educator

Michael B. and Sara F. Dolmayer ’54 Western Equestrian Scholarship

  • Awarded to western equestrian majors in their junior or senior years with a 3.0 GPA or better
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established to celebrate the lives of Michael and Sara in honor of all that they have given in years of devotion and passion to education, as well as their shared love of horses

Dow U.S.A. Science Scholarship

  • Awarded to junior natural science majors who have a 3.0 GPA or better
  • One to two scholarships awarded annually*
  • Established by Kent Davis and employees of Dow Chemical USA

Dressage Scholarship

  • Awarded to members of the Intercollegiate Dressage Association team at UF who demonstrate good sportsmanship, have strong leadership skills and work toward the betterment of the equine industry. Recipients must have a strong passion for horses and a 3.5 GPA or better.

Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Management Scholarship

  • Awarded to junior or senior environmental, safety and occupational health management majors who hold a 3.0 GPA or better
  • One to two scholarships awarded annually*

Ferguson Farm Inc. Equestrian and Pre-Vet Scholarship

  • Awarded to one equestrian studies major and one pre-vet major annually who are juniors or seniors and who hold a 3.0 GPA or better*
  • Established by Robert Ferguson

Emma May Gray '66 Scholarship

  • Awarded to math or science majors who are graduates of a Hancock County, Ohio, high school who are juniors or seniors with a 3.0 GPA or better
  • One to two scholarships awarded annually*
  • Established by alumna Emma May Gray '66 

Ralph W. Gunnett Sr. Memorial Scholarship

  • Awarded to a junior or senior computer science major
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by Mr. Gunnett’s family and his grandson, Craig E. Gunnett

Donald C. Higgins Scholarship

  • Awarded to environmental, safety and occupational health management majors whose hometowns are in counties served by the Northwest District office of the Ohio EPA
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by the friends and family of Donald C. Higgins

The University of Findlay Horse Club Scholarship

  • Awarded to full-time students majoring in equestrian studies or animal science who hold a 3.0 GPA or better. Preference is given to members of the UF Horse Club.

John C. and Audrice M. Hutson Scholarship

  • Awarded to students who are majoring in the humanities who also have interest in the sciences
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established to honor John C. Hutson ’48 on his retirement from Findlay College after 25 years of service and the many contributions made by his wife, Audie (Miller ’46) Hutson

William J. Jutte Memorial Scholarship

  • Awarded to students majoring in environmental, safety and occupational health management who hold a 3.2 GPA or better with first preference given to students interested in cancer issues

Koehler Equestrian Scholarship Endowment Fund

  • Awarded to full-time students majoring in equestrian studies who hold a 3.0 GPA or better

Steven J. Klein ’95 Memorial Pre-Veterinary Scholarship

  • Awarded to full-time students majoring in pre-veterinary medicine who hold a 3.4 GPA or better
  • One to two scholarships awarded annually*
  • Established by the pre-veterinary medicine program, the Pre-Vet Club, alumni, family and friends to honor Steven J. Klein 

Edward Lamb Foundation Equestrian Scholarship 

  • Awarded to equestrian majors in the English or western program
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by the Edward Lamb Foundation

P. Michael Lancaster ’83 Scholarship

  • Awarded to students who show outstanding achievement and potential in equestrian studies and equine management and who have a 3.0 GPA or better
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established as a lasting tribute to Mr. Lancaster by his family, friends and colleagues

Larry '63 and Ruth McDougle Scholarship

  • Awarded to full-time physics or mathematics majors who hold a 3.0 GPA or better
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by Larry and Ruth McDougle 

Marjorie M. McGranahan-Mildred F. McGranahan-Shafer-Van Dorn-McGranahan Scholarship

  • It is hoped by the donor that the scholarship recipient becomes a “steward of the land” wherever and however he/she may fulfill his/her days.

  • Established in memory of 1941 graduate Mildred McGranahan’s maternal grandmother, Mary Shafer Van Dorn, and her mother, Fern Van Dorn McGranahan

Dr. Wendell Moyer Scholarship

  • Awarded to honor students who have high character and are majoring in the natural sciences or math

Katharine Ballard Reed Memorial Scholarship

  • Awarded annually to students in the field of natural sciences with outstanding academic records entering their junior or senior year
  • Nine to 10 scholarships awarded annually*
  • Established by Dr. Charles Reed and Dr. Joseph Reed in memory of their mother, Katharine Ballard Reed, a lifelong resident of Findlay and neighbor of the UF campus    

Charles Sheets Western Equestrian Scholarship

  • Awarded to outstanding students majoring in western equestrian studies who hold a 2.5 GPA or better
  • Four to five scholarships awarded annually*
  • Established by Charles R. Sheets 

Dr. David Steiner Equestrian and Pre-Veterinary Medicine Scholarship

  • Awarded to a student in the pre-veterinary medicine program and a student in the equestrian studies program who are seniors and hold a 3.0 GPA or better
  • Two scholarships awarded annually*
  • Established by Dr. David L. Steiner

Glenn and Helen Stout Scholarship

  • Awarded to students majoring in the natural sciences
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by Dr. Glenn E. ’42 and Helen (Beery ’44) 

Stout United Solutions Inc. Scholarship

  • Awarded to environmental, safety and occupational health management majors who hold a 2.8 GPA or better
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established by the management team of United Solutions Inc., who are also UF alumni

David C. Wallach Mathematics Scholarship

  • Awarded to full-time students majoring in mathematics who hold a 3.0 GPA or better
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established in loving memory of David by his family and friends to honor his commitment to teaching and to UF

Whirlpool Foundation Scholarship for Women and Minorities

  • Awarded to junior, environmental, safety and occupational health management majors who hold a 2.75 GPA or better and who demonstrate financial need
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Established through Whirlpool’s Findlay Division

Dale Wilkinson Scholarship

  • Awarded to full-time students majoring in western equestrian studies who are in their junior or senior year and hold a 3.0 GPA or better
  • One scholarship awarded annually*
  • Establish by friends and former students to honor Dale Wilkinson and to continue his legacy of educating western riding trainers
