General Endowed Scholarships

All endowed scholarships are available to UF sophomores, juniors and seniors. A limited number of scholarships are available to incoming freshmen, and these scholarships are awarded as part of the regular freshman admissions process. Endowed scholarships range from $500 - $1,500 each year.
Leslie ’35 and Eva (Royer ’34) Baker Scholarship
Awarded to students who are graduates of Hancock County high schools and who are preparing for careers in service-oriented vocations
One to two scholarships awarded annually*
Established by the family and friends of Leslie and Eva Baker
Ballinger Industries Inc. Scholarship
- Awarded to students who are children of current employees of Fabco Inc. and Werk-Brau Inc., with second preference given to grandchildren of current employees
William A. Barton Scholarship
- Number awarded contingent on the number of qualified applicants*
- Established to support and encourage higher education
- Awarded to residents of Hancock County, Ohio, who are in their third or fourth year of study with a 3.0 GPA or better
- One to two scholarships awarded annually*
- Established by Treva A. Barton in memory of her husband, William
Ann E. Bonifas Memorial Scholarship
- Awarded to students who have financial need and who are employed by food services a minimum of 10 hours per week
- One to two scholarships awarded annually*
- Established by the family and friends of Ann Bonifas, former director of Marriott Food Services at The University of Findlay
Mrs. C.I. Brown Scholarship
- Awarded to students at the discretion of the president of The University of Findlay
- One scholarship awarded annually*
- Established through a bequest from Henry Brunner Brown Sr. ’14
Desmond V. Buford “One World, One People, One Race” Memorial Scholarship
- Awarded students who demonstrate leadership throughout the UF campus community and who hold a 3.0 GPA or better
- One scholarship awarded annually*
- Established by the family and friends of Des Buford in his memory.
A.R. and Mary Ann Charnes Student Life Endowment
- Awarded to students with financial need, preference given to descendants of Lewis Arthur Bundy and William Ira Keck
- Two to three scholarships awarded annually*
- Established in memory of Lewis Arthur Bundy and William Ira Keck, fathers of Richard Lewis and Geneva Keck Bundy
Caleb T. Clark Scholarship
- Awarded to students majoring in art and/or environmental studies who hold a 3.0 GPA or better
- One scholarship awarded annually*
- Established by the family and friends of Caleb T. Clark ’98 in his memory
Class of 1939 Scholarship
- Awarded to students with a 2.8 GPA or better who are involved in extracurricular activities
- One scholarship awarded annually*

Class of 1942 Scholarship
- Awarded to descendants of the Findlay College Class of 1942 who demonstrate financial need

George E. Countryman Scholarship
- Awarded to worthy students enrolled at UF
- One scholarship awarded annually*
- Established through a bequest from George E. Countryman
Philip B. and Peggy Crosby Scholarship
- Awarded to incoming freshmen who are pursing their education through UF’s Office of Graduate and Special Programs and who show distinct Christian ethics and have leadership qualities as indicated by extracurricular activities

Evelyn M. Damon ’27 Scholarship
- Awarded to students who are graduates of a Hancock County, Ohio, high school and who are preparing for a service-oriented profession such as teaching, nursing, social work and/or religion.
- Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA or better.

John R. ’53 and Jo Ann (H ’00) Davidson Scholarship
- Awarded to Findlay High School graduates who exhibit a commitment to public and/or community service who hold a 3.2 GPA or better

Dietsch Family Scholarship
- Awarded to residents of Hancock County, Ohio, with preference given to current or former employees of Dietsch Brothers Ice Cream Inc.

Ralph H. ’42 and Betty B. ’39 Edie Scholarship
- Awarded to full-time students with honorable service to the United States military

John and Frances Eoff Scholarship;
- Awarded to deserving students from Hancock County, Ohio, or the state of Ohio;
- Five to six scholarships awarded annually* Established by John and Frances Eoff's daughter, Jane Eoff Burson, and grandson, John Burson
GAR Foundation Scholarship
- Awarded to students who are high school graduates from Summit County, Ohio, with scholastic ability and financial need;
- Two to three scholarships awarded annually*;
- Established by the GAR Foundation of Akron, Ohio
Bob and Betty Gephart Scholarship
- Awarded to outstanding graduates of Van Buren High School
- One scholarship awarded annually*
- Established by friends, family and the children of Robert L. ’59 and Elizabeth A. (Now ’54) Gephart
Great Lakes Conference Churches of God Scholarship
- Awarded annually to undergraduate or graduate students who are members of a church in the Great Lakes Conference. The students must attend church regularly and have pastoral recommendation from their home churches. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or better and must apply for this scholarship through the Great Lakes Conference Churches of God office.

Grob Systems Inc. Scholarship;
- Awarded to students who are residents of Hancock County, Ohio, who hold a 3.5 GPA or better;

Tennyson Guyer Memorial Fund
- Awarded to deserving students who are residents of Ohio’s Fourth District and who are majoring in business administration, communication, religion or political science with leadership potential
- Eight to nine scholarships awarded annually*

Dr. John “Jack” Harrington Scholarship Endowment Fund
- Awarded to students who hold a 3.0 GPA or better
- One to two scholarships awarded annually*
- Established by The University of Findlay Board of Trustees to honor Dr. Harrington for his years of service to the University as chair of the Board.
I. N. Heminger Scholarship
- Awarded to students majoring in liberal arts or sciences
- Three to four scholarships awarded annually*
- Established by Edwin L. Heminger, Findlay Publishing Co. and The Courier in honor of Edwin’s grandfather, I.N. Heminger
Heritage Scholarship for African-American Students
- Awarded to sophomore or junior students of African-American descent who have a 2.8 GPA or better
- One scholarship awarded annually*
- Established through the generosity of a member of the UF staff
William and Lucye Hoopes Scholarship
- Awarded to students who demonstrate financial need who hold a 3.0 GPA or better*

Dr. James D. ’53 and Mira M. (Frost ’78) Houdeshell Scholarship
- Awarded to full-time students with a 3.0 GPA or better who major in education and participate in varsity football or basketball

O.J. and Georgia Huffman Scholarship
- Awarded to graduates of Hancock County high schools who hold a 3.0 GPA or better who are not participating in athletics 25 to 30 scholarships awarded annually*

Nellie Fox Hutson Scholarship
- Awarded to deserving students
- One scholarship awarded annually*

Royal and Rosamond Kear Scholarship
- Awarded to deserving students

Keck Family Memorial Scholarship
- Awarded to full-time undergraduate or graduate students who hold a 3.0 GPA or better
- One scholarship awarded annually*
- Established by John M. Keck '56 to honor the memory of his parents and aunt, Martin Iruh Keck, Carrie Belva Keck and Leola Trauger Keck
Mildred (Kinsinger ’29) Kelly Scholarship
- Awarded to students who have demonstrated financial need and hold a 3.0 GPA or better

Kelly George R. Lanagan Sr. Scholarship
- Awarded to students participating in a musical program at UF (in even years) and to students participating in intercollegiate athletics (odd years)

- Elizabeth L. Lanagan established this scholarship through her bequest to honor her late husband, George.
Stella LaRue Scholarship Endowment Fund
- Awarded to full-time students who hold a 3.0 GPA or better

Leon Charles Lantz Scholarship Endowment Fund
- Awarded to deserving students
- Three to four scholarships awarded annually*

Dudley Laser ’23 and Mary (Marks ’17) Lea Scholarship
- Awarded to students majoring in business, environmental, safety and occupational health management or language who demonstrate steady academic progress and a high degree of involvement in campus activities

Shirley M. Lloyd Scholarship
- Awarded to part-time or full-time students in any year of study who hold a 3.0 GPA or better

Patricia A. March Scholarship
- Awarded to students who are members of the residence life staff who hold a 3.0 GPA or better

Dean C.A. Morey Children of Alumni Scholarship
- Awarded to students who are the descendants of UF alumni and are enrolled in four-year degree programs

Geraldine Moss Scholarship
- Awarded to female graduates of Findlay High School who are not married

G.N. Nicholson Scholarship
- Awarded to incoming freshmen who have exhibited strong leadership roles while in high school and have ranked in the upper quarter or their graduating class
- Three to four scholarships awarded annually*

William and Marilyn Nonnamaker Scholarship
- Two scholarships awarded annually: one to incoming freshmen from Hancock County who rank in the upper third of their graduating class; the other to upperclassmen from Hancock County who hold a 3.2 GPA or better*

Dr. Herbert O. and Helen (Alexander) Now Scholarship
- Awarded to education majors or students preparing for Christian ministry who are involved with campus, community or church organizations

C. Paul Palmer Scholarship
- Awarded to students who hold a 3.0 GPA or better who demonstrate financial need

Thomas M. Pees Memorial Scholarship
- Awarded to graduates of Hardin Northern High School who hold a 3.2 GPA or better and are active in at least two campus activities

Lucinda V. Peters Scholarship
- Awarded to undergraduate or graduate students who are members of a church in the Eastern Regional Conference. The students must attend church regularly and have pastoral recommendations from their home churches. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or better and must apply for this scholarship through the Eastern Regional Conference Churches of God office.

- Awarded to students who are pursuing Christian studies

James W. ’63 and Karis S. Woodward Female Veterans’ Scholarship
- Awarded to students who are female veterans who have been discharged after honorable service with the U.S. active or reserve military service, or who are serving in the U.S. military
- One scholarship awarded annually*
- Established by Jim ’63 and Karis to honor their daughters, Jill L. Zeto and Judith A. Bunting. Both Jill and Judy are veterans who served their nation in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps.
