Animal Science Center
This 152-acre farm, developed by and
purchased from renowned horseman Dale Wilkinson, houses both the western
equestrian studies program and pre-veterinary medicine program.
The
western program has earned five Intercollegiate Horse Show Association
national championships in the past decade as well as numerous individual
honors.
The animal science/pre-veterinary program is highly
respected for its hands-on approach beginning with the freshman year,
and its graduates have been accepted to all 28 veterinary schools in the
United States and several internationally.
The Dr. C. Richard Beckett Animal Science Building
is a 31,000-square-foot facility with two 5-seat classrooms, a
laboratory, a pharmacy, instructional demonstration areas, holding pens
and other animal servicing areas.

James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex
This 32-acre farm, named after the
late University trustee James L. Child Jr., houses the English
equestrian studies program, which has won an Intercollegiate Horse Show
Association national title, several reserve titles and numerous
individual honors.
It also includes University Equine Veterinary Services Inc. and borders an adjacent, 30-acre nature preserve.
