Psychology is about people. It is exciting to be a part of a field that is committed to helping people live healthier and happier lives. It is also a field that enables me to live out my personal values passionately and to make a difference in the lives of others.

    Profile

Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I currently have a private practice in the community and have been practicing for over 37 years.

I  have been at the University since 1996. My interests include counseling psychology, health psychology, and positive psychology.  During the 2010/11 academic year, I led a program as  the Richard E. Wilkin COLA chair entitled:  "The Power of Positive:  Celebrating Human Goodness".  It involved the University and the community working together to enhance the positive qualities of people such as resilience, gratitude, optimism, courage, compassion, humility, and spirituality.

I am married to my wife Denese and have two children, three step-children, and four grandchildren. I am an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and I enjoy sports, reading, camping, gardening, and traveling.
