    Profile

    Dr. McIntosh currently holds a permanent teaching license and Assistant Superintendent license for the state of Ohio. Julie McIntosh teaches courses in the College of Education in Classroom Management, Early Childhood Science Methods, Ecosystems and Society, Capstone and AYA Science Methods. Professor McIntosh has worked for The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Bowling Green High School, Findlay High School, and Bowling Green State University before coming to The University of Findlay. She is a Praxis III Assessor for The Ohio Department of Education, Project Learning Tree Facilitator, Project Water Education for Teachers Facilitator, and Entry Year Teacher Program Coordinator for Findlay City Schools. Julie is the President of the Alumni Association Board of Governors for The University of Findlay.

    Professional Activity

    Julie is a member of the Association for the Education of Teachers of Science, National Association for Research in Science Education, Ohio Association of Teacher Educators, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Center of Science and Mathematics Education: Opportunities for Success, Science Educators Council of Ohio, National Science Teacher Association, Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators and Phi Delta Kappa. 

    She is on the Executive Board for the Northwest Ohio Center of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education (NWO). Julie was recently selected for the National Staff Development Council's Academy. The application process was competitive and McIntosh was selected for the Class of 2010. The academy is an extended and profound learning experience that exemplifies the professional learning envisioned by NSDC's Standards for Staff Development. Academy members work collaboratively with professionals from across the nation to learn about and solve significant student learning problems and gain solutions. The Academy is a two-and-one-half year commitment

    Recent Publications and/or Performances

    Professor McIntosh has presented at conferences hosted by the International Virtual School Symposium, National Science Teachers Association, The Ohio Department of Education, Annual Book and Reader Conference, Ohio School Supervisor's Association, Bowling Green State University, and The University of Findlay.  Dr. McIntosh has published in The Journal of the National Staff Development Council, American Secondary Education Journal, Principal Navigator, and Ohio Middle School Journal.
