Certificate in Gerontology
The certificate program is primarily designed for the benefit of the nontraditional student. Within the context of this program, "nontraditional student" refers to an individual who is interested in pursuing only those courses relevant to the completion of the certificate program. The administrative classification of students in the certificate program would be that of "non-degree student." The minimum eligibility requirement for admission to the program is a high school diploma.
The "Certificate in Gerontology" is an acknowledgement by The University of Findlay that the student has successfully completed the course work identified below with an average grade of "C" or better. The certificate represents the student's achievement in mastering course work specific to the aging process but does not confer upon the student any rights, privileges, or status. Rather, the certificate provides the student with a tool to promote his or her potential within the workplace. The certificate also will be awarded to a student who is enrolled in a degree program with a gerontology minor.
