English Major Internship

On-the-job training and first-hand experience through internships are one important way in which English majors prepare for a future career. The possibilities for internships are as varied as the individuals within the major. 

Recent English majors have held internships as:

  • Teaching assistants
  • Editors/writers for Stuff Magazine in New York City
  • Technical writers for various community agencies 
  • Newspaper reporters
  • Editors for our campus literary journal
  • Assistants to UF's Director of the Writing Center

If you choose an internship option, your advisor will confer with you to select an internship that best fits your emphasis and future goals.​

Oiler Connection  - As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance employment services to students, the Office of Internship and Cooperative Education Program has implemented a FREE online registration service.  Once registered, you have 24/7 access to internship postings. 


Job Fairs - Please view our Calendar of Events for upcoming events. 


On-Campus Interviews - Watch for emails notifying you of the interviews.
