Work and Internship Opportunities​​​​​​​​

The Forensic Science Program at The University of Findlay recognizes the importance of practical experience in the criminal justice field. You will be highly encouraged by your advisors to participate in internship opportunities as part of your professional development.


Internships can be undertaken with local, state, or federal agencies and within the private sector.  Students have completed internships with:

  • the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, 
  • State Medical Examiners Board,
  • Hancock County Sheriff,
  • Open Arms Domestic Violence Shelter,
  • Worth Center for Juvenile Offenders,
  • local police and probation departments, and
  • major private sector institutions in security and loss prevention.


Forensic Science Internships The University of Findlay in collaboration with the Washington Center also offers you the opportunity to complete 10 or 15 week internships with federal agencies in Washington D.C. such as the U.S. Attorney's Office, Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Justice Department. This exciting opportunity allows you to gain valuable experience, develop important professional contacts, and make life-long friendships.
