job outlook

Any career that demands a refined sensitivity to deep human concerns as well as to human cultures, morality, and aspirations will value students trained in the academic study of religion.

Some go on to graduate studies or professional schools to strengthen their qualifications; others move into work in the private or service sectors in which they may not often discuss religious issues, but where religious concerns and influences always are present.  The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics has a list of occupations that fall within that category.
