Economic Summit ’09

The University will host an Economic Summit with leading executives from the business, financial and investment sectors on Feb. 6 at Winebrenner Theological Seminary. The day-long summit will include a session focusing on local impact.
   
The summit is sponsored by the University, Convention and Visitors Bureau, GreaterFindlay Inc. and Findlay Publishing Co.

A series of seven discussion sessions will examine the foundations of the current economic crisis, how to stimulate the economy, emerging business opportunities and the impact of the crisis on today’s student, wrapping up with “Impact of the Crisis on Northwest Ohio,” moderated by Ray De Winkle, new president and CEO of Greater Findlay Inc.

Dennis Foster, a 1967 UF alumnus who is a former telecommunications executive and current business owner of Foster Thoroughbreds in Lexington, Ky., as well as an investor and board director, organized the event and will serve as moderator and panelist during the summit. Among those serving as panelists for the summit, titled “New Challenges — New Solutions,” are:
