Nearly 300 students will graduate from The University of Findlay during fall commencement ceremonies at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, in the Koehler Complex on campus.

More than 130 graduate degrees will be awarded, and more than 135 undergraduate degrees will be awarded, including approximately 20 bachelor of arts degrees and approximately 115 bachelor of science degrees.

Read about any one of UF’s five featured seniors, all of whom will receive either a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree: Michele Derr, Shana Schnipke, Desmond Strooh, Miranda Tippie and Bryant Weyrick.
            
In addition, nearly 20 associate of arts degrees will be conferred.

Among the UF graduates are approximately 65 international students who will receive master’s degrees and three international students who will receive bachelor’s degrees. Those students represent the countries of Nepal, Taiwan, China, Japan, India, Ghana, Korea and Venezuela.

Daniel May, Ph.D., vice president of academic affairs at The University of Findlay, will give the commencement address. May joined the University in 1991 as an assistant professor and has served in his current position since 2004.

Prior to joining the University, May completed field assignments with the U.S. Geological Survey in Arizona; supervised student field geology courses in California, New Mexico and Colorado; and did geologic consulting work in the Midwest.

May received a bachelor of science degree in geology from Stanford University in Stanford, Calif., and a doctoral degree in geology from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

The University’s traditional Arch Ceremony will immediately follow commencement at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the Griffith Memorial Arch.
