Friday, June 30, 2000
Findlay, Ohio, June 30, 2000 – The University of Findlay’s master of science degree in environmental, safety and health management can now be earned entirely on-line.
Students can take all courses toward the degree via the Internet, providing flexibility in graduate education regardless of location. Enrollment in web-based courses is increasing, and students are registered from all over the world.
The web-based program has transformed graduate education. Students can log into class and download notes, case studies and other information. Chat rooms are utilized for professor-to-classroom contact and exploration of ideas and information. The program can be accessed through the University’s global campus at http://nceem.org. A demonstration class is available so interested students can experience the accessibility of information and the format of distance learning.
The University of Findlay is a leader in the education of environmental, safety and health professionals. In 1986, UF was among the first colleges to offer a four-year degree for environmental professionals.
In 1994, UF was nationally accredited to deliver the master of science degree in environmental management, which has evolved into the master of science in environmental, safety and health management. In addition to offering the degree on the Findlay campus and now via the Internet, UF also has sites in Toledo, Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Dayton. The program expects to expand to out-of-state sites as well.
