Findlay, Ohio, Aug. 22, 2000 – The University of Findlay has begun offering more than 500 online workforce and professional development courses.

Courses are designed to deliver the highest quality and most up-to-date interactive education experience to adults seeking career advancement. The courses are delivered using advanced interactive distance learning methodologies, including the Internet, while only requiring that the student have access to a computer.

The purpose of these workforce development courses is to assist employers in accessing and maximizing the opportunities for their employees to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to be more competitive.

Lessons are downloaded to a home or office computer. Those who enroll can work on the courses at any time of the day or night. Assignments are included, and an instructor is available for students to contact.

The courses provide a learning environment that integrates everything from career planning to Internet-delivered courseware. They immerse students in a dynamic, continuously updated learning environment with access to a variety of learning events and resources, including on-line seminars, news, white papers and peer-to-peer collaboration. Each student’s experience is personalized to his or her interests, career objectives and job profile.

Some of the course topic areas available through The University of Findlay include a number of Microsoft courses, e-commerce, budgeting, organizational behavior, accounting, operations management, business law and contracting, human resource management, business strategy and investing and finance.
