Largest Freshman Class Enrolled at UF

Findlay, Ohio, Aug. 24, 2000 – The University of Findlay has recruited its largest class of traditional first-time, full-time freshmen. The class numbers 711 students, up 30 percent from the fall 1999 class of 548 students.
Of the 711 students, 306 are from Allen, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Putnam, Seneca, Wood and Wyandot Counties, a tribute to the University’s Advantage Program. Instituted for the first time this fall, the program offers students in the eight-county region a special tuition rate for their first two years of study at UF.
About 20 percent of the 711 new students are from out of state, while 80 percent are from Ohio. The average grade point average for the new freshmen class stands at 3.38.
In addition to the 711 traditional new students, there are 101 new full-time transfer students. Also, there are 89 new international students on campus this fall, representing 17 countries.
