Findlay, Ohio, Nov. 17, 2000 — The University of Findlay’s Black Student Union will sponsor the performance "It Takes a Village" on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 9 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union, Multi-purpose Room.

"It Takes a Village" by Andre Minkins is a play based on the African proverb "it takes a whole village to raise a child." The performance relies on the audience to help celebrate the true meaning of the spirit of Kwanzaa. In each scene, a different principle of Kwanzaa is represented as the audience of villagers, led by the performers, unify to understand how to release self for the good of the whole community.
