Findlay, Ohio, Dec. 7, 1999 – The University of Findlay has added Lucas County to “The Advantage,” a program which offers students a major tuition discount.
Initiated one year ago, “The Advantage” offers students who graduate from any of the 86 high schools in Allen, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Lucas, Putnam, Seneca, Wood and Wyandot counties the opportunity to attend UF at a dramatically reduced price.
For graduates of any of these high schools who enter The University of Findlay as freshmen in the fall of 2001, the tuition cost will be no more than $6,200 each year for the freshman and sophomore years, after financial aid is awarded. That’s a savings of nearly $10,000 per year over UF’s regular tuition rate.
Financial aid is also available for these students’ junior and senior years based on academic standing and the result of the FAFSA.
Of the 711 new freshmen who enrolled at UF in fall 2000, 336 are from Allen, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Putnam, Seneca, Wood and Wyandot Counties, a tribute to the program’s popularity. By comparison, the enrollment of students from those eight counties in the fall of 1999 was 160.
At a time when the average tuition at Ohio private colleges stands at more than $15,000 per year, Findlay is committed to working with students to make their college experience more affordable.
