Visiting Scholar to Speak at UF

Findlay, Ohio, Jan. 29, 2001 — Professor Weifang Zhu, a visiting scholar from Beijing, China, will present "A Comparison of Chinese and English Education" on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. in the North Multipurpose Room, Alumni Memorial Union, at The University of Findlay.
Zhu has a master of arts degree in English language teaching from Warwick University, U.K. She is currently an adviser to English Salon, a monthly English Chinese magazine for general English learners in China. She is Deputy Dean of the School of English Language Communication at Beijing Foreign Studies University and a board member of the Capital Women Professors' Association.
From 1997-98, she worked as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Yale University. She co-authored "Toward a Grammar of Passages" in 1988.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
