AAUW Event Planned
Friday, March 02, 2001
Findlay, Ohio, March 2, 2001 — The American Association of University Women, in conjunction with the Women’s Studies program at The University of Findlay, will host a presentation by Lynn Child, CEO of Aardvark Media Productions of Findlay, on Tuesday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union, Endly Room.
The program is an outgrowth of "Tech Check" which was conducted by the AAUW during the 1999-2000 academic year. "Tech Check" was a survey done with Findlay High School students to determine how many female students were involved in technology-related classes. The numbers were quite low as compared to their male counterparts.
As part of the presentation, Child will share her vision of technology in Hancock County and beyond and the potential for women in the market. Accompanying her will be Valerie Logan, marketing manager at Aardvark, who will explain her work in the fields of technology and communication. Janet Roll, director of the technology management program at UF, will explain technology-based programs available at the University.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 423-0791.
