Findlay, Ohio, May 2, 2001 – Communication students at The University of Findlay were recently awarded an Honorable Mention in the National Communicator Awards for a logo they designed last spring for Findlay Campus Compact, an organization that teams university learning with service to the community.
The logo design was part of a service learning project for the Public Relations Practices spring 2000 class, which included Stephen Abbott, Jason Hanna, Dawn Hensel, Angela Kellermeyer, Rebecca Shell, Maria Smith, Alan Stephan, Denise Theil, Lisa Warren and Courtny Wyrick. David Trisel, a graphic designer at The University of Findlay, guided the students’ work and put the finishing touches on the design.
The Communicator Awards is a national awards organization that recognizes outstanding work in the communications field. Entries are judged by industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
The students were in competition with 3,344 entries from professionals in the communications industry.
