Brain-Based Learning Institute Planned at UF

Findlay, Ohio, May 4, 2001 — The University of Findlay will present a summer institute on brain-based learning June 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union, Multipurpose Room.
Speakers for the institute will include Susan J. Kovalik, president of Susan J. Kovalik and Associates, Inc., and pioneer in brain-compatible learning, and Donald Cameron, M.D., pediatric neurologist and director of the Children’s Neurology Center in Perrysburg, Ohio.
Participants of the institute will examine neurobiology in learning, cognitive processing, curricular applications of brain research, teaching strategies and curriculum development.
Cost for the institute is $150, which includes lunch. Those who wish can receive one graduate workshop credit for an additional fee of $115.
