UF Announces Senior Forum Schedule

Findlay, Ohio, Sept. 10, 2001 — The University of Findlay will hold its fall Senior Forum on Wednesdays, Sept. 26 to Oct. 31.
Senior Forum is a socially and intellectually stimulating learning experience for people age 50 and older. It offers non-credit classes with no tests or required reading.
Each day consists of sessions in the morning and afternoon as well as lunch lecture. Sessions are independent of each other.
Morning sessions from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. include "Simon Kenton, Frontiersman" by Ken Hammontree on Sept. 26; "Northern Ireland" by Neal Jesse on Oct. 3; "Ohio Presidents" by James Taylor on Oct. 10; "A Medical Mission to Central America" by Carol Fitzpatrick on Oct. 17; "Mission to a Mexican Border Town" by Sharon Milligan on Oct. 24; and "Experiencing Oberammergau" by Connie Dunham and Sylvia Duncan on Oct. 31.
Lunch sessions from noon to 1 p.m. include "Financial Planning for the New Millennium" by Chris Cooper on Sept. 26; "Downtown Findlay on the Move" by Doug Peters on Oct. 3; "Habitat Projects Here at Home" by Patty Lucas on Oct. 10; "Gas and Electric Deregulation" by Jerry Droll on Oct. 17; "What is a Physician’s Assistant?" by Paul Davis on Oct. 24; and "Nuclear Power: How Does It Work?" by Jerry McKenzie on Oct. 31.
Afternoon sessions from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. include "The Shape of Music" by Mel Harsh on Sept. 26; "Puccini and His Tragic Women" by Micheal Anders on Oct. 3; "Songs of the Cabaret" by Teresa Clark and Wendene Shoupe on Oct. 10; "Barbershop Style" by Paragon Barbershop Quartet on Oct. 17; "The Underground RR in Ohio" by Auburn Shaeffer on Oct. 24; and "Japanese Culture and Music" by the International Friendship Circle of First Lutheran Church on Oct. 31.
Cost for the series is $57 for singles and $99 for couples. The fee for any single class or lunch lecture $3 for singles and $5 for couples. A buffet lunch is available for an additional $4.50 per day, payable at registration, or participants may purchase lunch in the Alumni Memorial Union snack bar. A coffee/tea bar is provided all day at no charge to participants.
