U.S. News surveyed approximately 2,000 colleges and universities, limiting the search to those institutions that are approved by their regional accrediting boards. This stipulation means that colleges and universities reviewed by U.S. News meet rigorous academic standards and qualify for federal aid programs. Data collection is in reference to the 2000-2001 academic year.
The University of Findlay’s online MBA program was initiated in 1998 by Ted Alex, Ph.D., dean of the College of Business. The MBA may be taken entirely online in classes limited to not more than 20 students. The access speed is 256k and technical help is available 24 hours a day. Chat rooms are utilized to facilitate online classroom discussion in real time.
For fall of 2000, 254 students were enrolled in the online MBA. Online classes are taught by the same faculty members who teach in campus classrooms. In addition, online students have access to the financial aid office, advising, library resources, career counseling and placement assistance.
"We are extremely pleased that a national publication has recognized the hard work by our faculty and staff to create a top quality program," Alex commented. "The online MBA has been well received by students and is one of the fastest growing programs at The University of Findlay. Currently, we are serving students from 21states and eight foreign countries."
