Findlay, Ohio, Oct. 5, 2001 —The University of Findlay’s Mazza Collection of original art work from children’s picture books will hold an art auction on Sunday, Nov. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion.
The auction will include more than 100 artworks from such noted artists as Ted Lewin, Tomie dePaola, Pierr Morgan, Vladimir Vagin, Steven Kellogg, Wil Clay, Arthur Geisert, Diane Stanley, Peter Catalanotto, Tedd Arnold and Art Seiden.
A preview reception will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reick’s Gallery in Findlay.

The Mazza Collection, the first and largest teaching gallery in the world specializing in the art from children’s picture books, began in 1982 with four pieces of art valued at $1,700. Today, there are more than 2000 pieces of art valued at several million dollars. All the art in the collection is donated.
