Findlay, Ohio, March 7, 2002 — The University of Findlay will host its annual Jazz Festival on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Egner Fine Arts Center theatre.

Eight high school bands from throughout Ohio will appear in competition performances for overall awards and outstanding soloist awards.

The University of Findlay Jazz Ensemble will appear in a host band performance at 3 p.m., featuring judges Norman Damschroder, Jack Taylor and Dave Tippett as guest soloists. Under the direction of Dave Melle, the Toledo Jazz Orchestra will present a special concert at 4:30 p.m. Melle will also offer an educational clinic on the rhythm section and its contribution to the jazz band at 3:45 p.m.
