Findlay, Ohio, Sept. 5, 2002 — Kevin Cassidy and Lissa Guyton have been named executive director for institutional advancement and corporate development and director of equine business development, respectively, at The University of Findlay.
Cassidy comes to UF from an 18-year career with Frito-Lay, Inc. He started with the company in sales in 1984 and worked his way up to national key account manager.
A Toledo native and 1975 graduate of Toledo St. John’s High School, Cassidy was a key part of Coach Dick Strahm’s first football recruiting class in 1975. During his senior year, Cassidy co-captained the first undefeated regular season in Findlay’s history and was named an NAIA All-American. He was an assistant coach of the Oilers’ 1979 NAIA National Championship team.
Cassidy is past chairman of Varsity F and was inducted into the UF Athletic Hall of Fall in 1996.
After living in Upper Arlington, Ohio, for the past 18 years, he and his wife, Cindy, reside in Findlay with their children, Sean and Brianne.
Guyton has amassed more than 10 years of experience in the broadcast news business. Most recently, she was the executive director of a special project for the City of Toledo called “It’s Reigning Frogs.”
From 1997-99, she was an anchor for WNWO-TV in Toledo. From 1989-1997 she worked as an anchor and reporter for WICU-TV in Erie, Pa. Guyton continues to freelance in the broadcasting business.
Active in her community, Guyton is a board member for the American Cancer Society, YMCA’s Camp Storer, Fallen Timbers Battlefield Preservation Commission, The Edward Lamb Foundation, Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, Planned Pethood (an animal rescue organization) and Springbrook Riding Club. She has owned and competed horses for more than 24 years. She successfully competes her horse throughout the midwest.
In 2001, Guyton was the CityScape Signature Award winner and the Spirit of Toledo Award winner. She won the 1994 Dynamic Dozen Award given to women who make a difference in Erie, Pa.
A 1989 graduate of Stephens College, she has received additional training from the University of Missouri and The University of Findlay.
She lives in Perrysburg, Ohio.
