Findlay, Ohio, Oct. 17, 2002 — The University of Findlay and Washington Intermediate School in Findlay have been awarded the Ohio Department of Education/Learn and Serve America 2002-03 K-16 Collaboration Seed Grant.

The K-16 Collaboration Seed Grant is funded through a grant from the Ohio Department of Education, Learn and Serve America K-12, which receives funding from The Corporation for National Service.

The grants provide funding for the development and implementation of academic courses, research projects or professional service activities that engage faculty from institutions of higher education with teachers in local K-12 school systems. The faculty and K-12 teacher work together to design their project and establish how their students will participate together in the learning through service experience.

The University of Findlay faculty member involved in the project is Christina Keck, instructor of Spanish.
