UF To Stage The Diary of Anne Frank
Monday, October 21, 2002

Findlay, Ohio, Oct. 21, 2002 —The University of Findlay theatre program will stage The Diary of Anne Frank on Nov. 13-16 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. in the John and Hester Powell Grimm Theatre in the Frank J. Egner Center for the Performing Arts.

The show, which will be directed by Scott Hayes, director of the UF theatre program, is adapted by Wendy Kesselman and originally written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett. In this adaptation, Anne Frank emerges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl who confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing honor of her time with astonishing honesty, wit and determination. An impassioned drama about the lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic, The Dairy of Anne Frank captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence – their fear, their hope, their laughter and their grief.

The cast includes Coy Schlumbohm as Otto Frank, Gina Aiello-Schuh as Edith Frank, Jaclyn Hilborn as Mrs. Van Daan, Kurt Aller as Mr. Van Daan, Andrea Coto as Margot, Cait Newell as Anne, Matt Dennis as Peter, Kyle Kutchenriter as Mr. Dussel, Christine Hollington as Miep Gies and Don Dew as Mr. Kraler.

Tickets for the show are $5 for adults and $3 for students and are available by calling 419-434-4531.
