UF to Host Meal for Families of Military Members

Findlay, Ohio, April 16, 2003 — Student leaders at The University of Findlay have organized a “Supper for a Soldier’s Family” on Friday, April 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the College First Church of God Fellowship Hall, 1100 N. Main St., Findlay.

The goal of the event is to have The University of Findlay and the Hancock County community reach out, serve and encourage local families who have family members serving in the Armed Forces, on call or newly enlisted.

University students approached local restaurants to donate food, with classmates and local elected officials serving the meal. Meals for 185 people consisting of spaghetti, garlic bread, cole slaw, fruit, dessert, iced tea and lemonade will be provided by The Spaghetti Shop, Findlay and Springfield, Ill.; Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken, Findlay and Tiffin, Ohio; Red Lobster Store #580, Findlay; Sodexho Catering Services, Findlay; and Farmers Insurance Group, Findlay.

The meal is free, but reservations must be made by Tuesday, April 22, at 5 p.m. by calling The University of Findlay Office of Student Activities at 419-434-4606.
