Inc. Columnist to Speak at UF
Tuesday, April 01, 2003

Findlay, Ohio, April 1, 2003 — Inc. columnist and business entrepreneur Norm Brodsky will speak at The University of Findlay on Monday, April 7, from noon to 12 p.m. in Ritz Auditorium, Old Main.

The founder of six businesses, including a three-time Inc. 500 company and a business that was listed in the magazine’s list of the 100 fastest growing public companies, Brodsky began writing “Street Smarts” for the magazine after being featured on Inc.’s cover in July 1995.

Brodsky began his professional career as a lawyer. However, the slow pace of the courtroom made him want to do something different. His first entrepreneurial endeavor was Perfect Courier, a messenger service and trucking company in Brooklyn, N.Y.

When the rise of fax machines in the early 1980s decreased the need for messengers, Brodsky looked for other options. A phone call from a customer asking about box storage prompted him to call storage facilities in the area. Recognizing that others were charging too much and the potential for the market was great, Brodsky began CitiStorage with the profits from his trucking company. The archival storage and retrieval company now holds more than 2 million boxes and is one of the largest records storage centers in the United States.

Brodsky also began sharing his expertise with others, providing information on how to start and maintain successful businesses. He has been featured on CNN and CNBC.

A graduate of Rider College in Trenton, N.J., and the Brooklyn Law School, Brodsky is married to his business partner, Elaine.

The presentation is free and open to the public.
