Centennial Farm Operation Transferred Back to Township of Grosse Ile
Monday, April 21, 2003

Findlay, Ohio, April 21, 2003 — The University of Findlay and the Township of Grosse Ile, Mich., have agree to transfer operation of the equestrian program based at Centennial Farm Equestrian Center in Grosse Ile, Mich., back to the township.

During and after the transition, it is the goal to provide uninterrupted services to those who use the facility. The transfer will become official on June 30, 2003. While the township will assume direct control of the operations, The University of Findlay will still serve in an advisory capacity.

The township hopes to fold the equestrian program into its Recreation Department under the management of Tim Rooney, recreation director. The township’s future management of the site is subject to review by the Recreation Commission and the Township Board.

The University of Findlay has operated Centennial Farm Equestrian Center since January 2001. The center provides boarding arrangements and riding instruction.
