Two Development Officers Hired at UF

Findlay, Ohio, April 21, 2003 — Dennis Maag and Charlie Shepard II have been hired as major gifts officers by The University of Findlay.

Previously in the banking industry, Maag worked since 1989 with The Peoples Banking Company. Most recently, he was assigned to the Special Assets Division. He also was executive vice president of RFC Banking Company in 2000 and was CEO and chairman of the board of directors of The Peoples Banking Company from 1998-00. He was named president of the bank in 1997. From 1980-89, Maag worked in various capacities with State Home Savings Bank.

A 1980 graduate of then Findlay College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Maag went on to attend numerous banking schools and institutes. He is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and was elected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. He was a captain of UF’s NAIA National Football Championship team in 1979 and played for the runner-up team in 1978. He was voted HBCC All-League in football in 1979 and played on the UF baseball team in 1979-80.

Shepard has been with UF since 2001, most recently as coordinator of donor research. Previously, he was director of the Cobham Youth Program for the Salvation Army in Warren, Pa. He also spent time as interim director of the Salvation Army Community Center in Lexington, Ky.

A cum laude graduate of Asbury College with a bachelor’s degree in history, Shepard was a member of the History Honor Society. He participated in “Lead On,” a professional development program and worked in several capacities with the Salvation Army Student Center.
